Frameless cabinet w/ cutting board

Does anyone have a good way of providing a cutting board in a frameless / full overlay base cabinet without one or two of the drawers looking conspicuously shorter?

make the cutting board the "top" of the drawer box (behind the finished front), leave the sides or one side open for knife storage. Everything stays the same size.

I short the top drawer front 28mm and put a cutting board over the top. This requires moving the top deck/spreader down so it is under the cutting board and at the top of the drawer. The cutting board has a piece of finished wood glued to the front the same width as the drawer front. I route the underside with a finger pull which requires opening the drawer, pulling out the board and then closing the drawer. I prefer a small knob on the board so opening the drawer isn't necessary.

Oddly, I'm doing the same thing on a kitchen right now. I thought I'd glue up a cutting board the same size as the inside dimensions of the drawer box and add some "ledgers" to the inside of drawer box.. Finger hole for the cutting board. Drawer front is bigger than opening

KV makes a bread board slide, mounts to system holes. It is just a track for the board, white coated.

Accuride also makes a ball bearing bread board slide. I've never used them because they look kind of deep. They do have a lock out detent & a way of lifting the board out for cleaning.

I have used the Acuride ones. Works best if the board is a butcher block about an inch and half thick. For this application I would tip a false front down and then pull out the board. Nice but more expensive that a simple cutting board. The KV ones are simply a metal channel, nothing fastens to the board. A lockout isn't needed.

Thanks for the replies. There's a lot of good ideas ... all better than what I was thinking!
