Canada Edgebander Recommendations?

Hi, I am currently the owner of a very frustrating, finicky edgebander that I have never been totally pleased with. I am looking to upgrade, and was hoping to get some suggestions from users on here...

My requirements are rather limiting, my budget is flexible.

Requirements -
1 - Single phase power
2 - Compact footprint
3 - Preferrably quick changeover between panel thicknesses/banding types, etc.
4 - Available dealer/service in SW Ontario, Canada.

Anyone have any specific manufacturer suggestions? Or better yet, a well-maintained bander they're looking to part with? Lol...

Depending on your finances you may want to invest in a small phase converter which will open up more opportunities for a fair smaller edgebander.
Phasequest has some pretty economical. We have a felder older model and it works ok for the amount we use it.

Be sure to look into HolzHer and their cartridge glue system. 5 minute warm up, easy glue color and type changes, and minimal adjustment for panel thickness. Be sure to see demos of glue pot machines for comparison.

Dave’s advice on the phase converter is an excellent idea. Best piece of equipment I ever bought. Got mine from American Rotary 20 years ago and still going strong. I am in Ontario. Excellent service if you ever need it

A few questions to ask or answer before deciding on a bander:
Is this going to be a single operator bander? If it is then you don't necessarily need a programmable machine.
How often do you change over tapes /solids? If it takes 5 minutes one day a week or twice a day.
What stations do you need, radius edge, glue scraping, corner round, etc.
Do you do much 3mm PVC? Do you want to?
I have a SCM K201. It's small, single phase and easy to get service and parts for. But the glue regulation is not great and it doesn't do 3mm (although the 201 Plus will with a beefed up guillotine and better end trim)
I don't band every day or week and I'm the only operator so the machine and I have come to a good working arrangement. If I were do more banding I would look for a heavier machine like a Brandt KD57 or a SCM K203
I'm in Ottawa so our techs usually come from Montreal. You shouldn't have a problem finding a technician in your neck of the woods.
