I have a 2003 Holzher 1310 Sprint, Getting chattering on the 1942 top and bottom trimmers. The machine kind of groans and vibrates intermittently and that makes the trimmer motors vibrate and then I get the chatter. I can't pinpoint why its vibrating, it's something up stream of the top and bottom trimmers? Any idesa on this?

Nick- Is the entire track groaning and vibrating? This could be a sign of debris under the track pads and a track greasing system that isn't performing properly. If it's not the track that seems to vibrate share more specific information.

I agree with Nick, the track is suspect. I also removed the rollers above the track and cleaned the bolts that attach them to the beam. That seems to have helped a lot.

I'm taking out the rollers to clean them, not finding information on what to lubricate the bushings with? Any ideas?

The front plate below the track removes. The grease system on that is poor on that machine. Remove the front plate and grease the track by hand. It does not take much grease. It is not a big job, definitely worth doing annually as a maintenance item.

It does look very easy to remove the allen head bolts and get good access to the track, that's my next step. I have white grease for the zerts on my CNC machine, I wonder if that would be a good grease? If not I'll order the stuff from Holzher.

Is the setting right for the material thickness?

Yes I think so, also the vibration is not on every part we put through.

I used a PTFE dry film spray that came with the edgebander on those bushings. The track grease is GLS 361/N1 from Elkalub. That came with the bander as well.

Finally got the track greased and removed and cleaned and lubricated all the top rollers. It runs a little smoother but still has the intermittent groaning that sets it to vibrate, then that vibration makes the top and bottom trimmer motor assembly carriage vibrate and thus creates chatter on the edges of the 1 mm banding. I can't pinpoint what sets it off?

We are located in North Idaho, can anyone recommend a technician for our area? I called two numbers listed on the machine but have not heard back in two days.

Lubricate the copy wheel bearings on the top and bottom trimmers.
I had the same issue a while back, cleaned the bearings with spray then saturated them with spray lube with the nozzle straw.
Mine mostly occured on full length pieces, getting worse on the longer pieces, as they seemed to set off some harmonic vibrations as the piece went through the machine
