Blum 110º Self Close hinges only open 90º

I've been having this issue for some time now. It's only on the full crank (inset) hinges. And just today I noticed it is only on the self close version and not the soft close version.

I always use one of each on my normal sized doors. The soft close is on the top of the door and the self close on the bottom.

On the cabinet I'm working on now again the full crank is only providing 90º of movement instead of the 110º it claims.

What I noticed is the door hits the hinge on the arm that it swings on. The part of the door is between the 35mm hole and the edge of the door. I bore at 6mm from the edge as that seems to work for all my needs and hinges. The soft close looks like it still has more swing room because the arm isn't close to hitting the door.

Anyone else seeing this? Or is it just me?

I dont think you can mix those hinges even though they are both 110 degree. If you want soft close you have to use them for both hinges and turn off the button on one hinge if you want it to close slower.

I don't see how that self close hinge will ever open to 110º. It's bottomed out at 90ish

I use 1/2 crank hinges with a 9 mm plate for inset, never had a problem. In a pinch, I'll use a straight arm hinge with an 18 mm plate, that works just as well.

Generally I use the inline plates and they only come in 0mm and 3mm. I like the clean look.

But that's an option. I wonder where my tri-plate jig is.. hmmmm
