this photo of a wall oven cabinet is from a cherry kitchen that is getting all new doors. these are the old doors pictured as they were before removal.
all new doors were made to exact specs of old doors.
someone removed and took all of the old doors already.
my mystery is this.... those2 upper doors measure 14 5/8" in width. the cabinet is 30" wide overall, and the stiles measure 3" in width all the way up.
every other door in this kitchen has 1 1/4" hinges,
I have ZERO clue how these doors were mounted. I would need a 2 1/2" overlay hinge.
The old doors are gone, so no way to look at the back of them to see how they were hinged.
any clues???
as you can see in the picture there is no visible hinge showing.
I have 2 new doors to mount and cannot for the life of me find a hinge overlay that large.
i guess in a pinch i can cut the opening bigger onsite, but im trying to avoid that as this kitchen is now all painted and ready for doors.
The face frames are not packed out inside the cabinet and the cabinet has since been painted.
no contractor onsite remembers anything about what they saw when they removed the old doors
im sorry if you cant zoom in on photo, you can truly see its a face frame mounted door with only about 3/8 of an inch from door edge to cabinet edge with a 3" stile
