Holzher Fr301 Trimmer replacement and Diamond Tool Sharpening

Looking for some advice/guidance for a new edgebander. In January our shop got a new Holzher 1308 Auriga Power edgebander. The bander has a FR301 trimming unit with diamond tooling cutters. We are medium sized commercial shop in Fairbanks, AK and run ALOT of 3mm banding for our doors and drawer fronts. We are trying to figure where to get replacement cutters for the trimmers and where to get the diamond cutters sharpened. Previously we had been using a Brandt Ambition bander that had easy to change replaceable carbide cutters. Weinig Holzher is quoting us $750 each for the top and bottom cutters. Leuco would have to order these from Germany at a higher cost. Long story short we are planning to get the cutters from Weinig-Holzher and have Leuco sharpen the existing cutters. Is 6 months of running the cutters seems like a normal sharpening interval? Is there another source for the cutters? I'd appreciate any insights or advice.
Thanks,
Liz

We run PDC cutting tools on our banders and the rough and fine trimmers last for years when cutting PVC edging.
We have the original carbide tooling for when the PDC are out for sharpening. The pre-mill cutters we get sharpened approximately 1/year. We send tools back to manufacture for the most part our tools are from Lueco and they have a service center in the US that does the sharpening.

Gotcha. Holzher is telling me that they only offer PDC trimmers our machine. We're in Fairbanks, Alaska, so we'll probably need to bit the bullet and get another set of trimmers. That way we'll still be able to use the bander one set is out for sharpening. Thanks for the reply. Been in the cabinet industry since 2000, and everything's been carbide until we got this new machine.
