You got on onboard tool changer or is it on the side of the machine ?
It might be an error stating that one of the tool holders sensor is not sensing it down.
Is your curtain up ?
Used to have a nc481 long time ago

ok that sounds to me like the iso 30 cone holder is not position all the way down. It is raised and lowered by an air cylinder that will have to sensors on it. One has to be lit (the red light glowing) when it is in the up position, an another sensor needs to be lit in the up postion. These sensors are activated by a magnet located inside the cylinder and these sensors sometimes need to be adjusted up or down the outside of the air cylinder. Check to see if you see the red light lit on the air cylinder that raises the arm that holds the iso 30 cone. If not check to see if anything is keeping the arm from being completely raised, such as debris or even rubbing against the arm next to it. Also you may need to lubricate the air cylinder arm as it may be bent or just a little bit old. Be careful with the alumium arm they are very expensive and are cast and will break very easily. I believe this is a design feature in order to keep from hurting the spindle. Good luck with keeping the rover 20 running, it is a good machine but sooner or later you will get tired of buying parts and spending more money then it is worth. If needed I have one I will sell for parts. My controller went bad and replacing it was more money then I could ever get back out of the machine. I just put the money towards a new machine and it was the best decision I ever made. I have manuals as well
