CA Tech/3M PPS system sputtering

We have a CA Tech FE Line gun with the 3M PPS pressure feed cup in our shop. Most times it works great but at times it starts sputtering like there is air getting in somewhere. Ive cleaned and re cleaned the gun, pick up tube cap and tip. Everything is clear. Any ideas what may be causing this? Cant seem to find anything related specifically to this type of set up on the web or in the forum here.

PPS1 or 2?

The PPS2 liners have a nasty habit of light cracking, which doesn't always make the material come out, but does almost always let the air come out.

I never had any of these issues with the PPS1 liners.

Beyond that, it's almost always improper sealing of some form.

I've never had a PPS liner (v1 or v2) sputter unless it was cracked or the lid was not sealing properly enough.

This is with a CA Tech CPR pressure feed gun.

Thanks, we are using the pps1 system. I went back over the gun again and rescrubbed all the air passages the cap etc. Still doing it. Its definitely the gun though. Its the CPR gun not the Fe line( my mistake in the post). We do have a CPR Feline gun as well. I switched the pps over to that gun and it works fine no sputtering so its definitely something in the other CPR gun and not the pps system.
Going to break it down again and leave it in a bucket of solvent for the weekend and see if there is possibly some build up somewhere internally that I cant see or get to...

Yeah that is super weird.

If you turn the gun upside down, without any pressure going to the cup, does it do the same thing?

(It shouldn't)

The FE-Line gun is very very close to the gun i have. They even use the same air caps, needle/nozzle/etc.

The other dumb thing to check:
Make sure the valve near the air port is wide open,.

Danny B I didnt think to try that. I have it all broken down and soaking in solvent now but will give it a try if this doesnt resolve it.
Daniel Berlin, Messed around with that and the fan control as well. Its the CPR gun doing it. FE line is fine. (listed that one on the thread in error.)
