Advise needed on pump selection

I know I posted a question about getting an additional pump
I currently have a CAT 14:1 peak
I have been busy with other work and now trying to make a decision
I mainly use the CAT for solvent based finish
However lately I'm getting more request to repaint kitchens and baths but also things like bookshelves/doors/wainscoting etc...
As most of you knows that most likely it was painted with a latex or oil or maybe with a waterborne so I don't feel comfortable using solvent based finish on top of something like that
However I do like using BM Advance paint
It lays nice and seems to be a good finish
So far I've only use a small Graco X5 pump with a fine finish tip
But I'm wondering if getting a AAA pump would be a better choice?
Someone suggested the
Graco merkur 24f151
ES 15:1 pump
I have a chance of getting one at a discounted price
Anyone here can tell me about that pump?
Is it a good choice for spraying the BM Advance?for those of you that doesn't know advance,it is a waterborne alkyd
It's not thick like latex but more than most solvent based products I used

While Advance is better than latex paint, it still doesn't spray as well or look as good as a "real" industrial waterbased finish like Sherwin Williams, Target or ML Campbell. I can get any of them custom tinted and they spray well using my CAT 14:1 with an .009 or .011 tip.

Yes of course there's industrial waterborne
I would have to get MLC as it is my go to product
But what I have heard and been told is that it is not really a good thing to use those products on top of a soft coating like latex
I really don't want to find out the hard way!
So that's why I mentioned BM Advance since it's more "user friendly" in some ways
Unless you know something that I don't
I've use waterborne before(MLC aqualente)
But never on top of old work

Ah, right. I've sprayed Advance through my CAT, but I had to thin it beyond the recommended %. Maybe like 25%. I've also found that the thicker stuff clogs up the pickup tube strainer.

I'm with you on not applying something harder/ less flexible over something softer...don't do it! BM Advance is a good product...way better than most acrylic latex. The problem is the slow drying...just priming first can solve that.
I just use a airless with a Graco 310 low pressure fine finish tip (they work great) to spray Advance. I have a Graco G-15 with the hopper that l use to spray viscous material, it too works great.

Exactly what I'm talking about
Sometimes you just need to play it safe
I know Advance takes a long time to dry but I think it does finish nice
But do you think using a AAA pump would benefit for a better finish?

I think a AAA set-up would spray BM Advance with more control and a better finish. I say think because l've never sprayed it out of a AAA pump. It 's thin enough a 10:1 might work but 14:1 or 15:1 pump will work for sure.
