Pacific Joiners is hiring.
Who we are: We are Kauai's premiere custom millwork shop. Recently expanded, we now have a 10,000 sqft facility. We are growing into our new space, expanding our production capabilities, and looking for experienced people to fill new roles. We are a small/medium sized shop consisting of less than 12 people. Our work consists mainly of hand-stitched, custom, veneered cabinetry and paneling. We offer a very focused and challenging, yet fun environment.
Journeyman applicants - must have worked in a high-end shop for a minimum of 5 years. The journeyman position starts at $35/hr for the first two weeks. After this, we can discuss pay raises based on your performance and skills. We offer great health insurance and paid time off. Hours of operation are 7a-5p M-F. Hours are somewhat flexible but we need you to commit to 40 hours a week. A journeyman should be a self-starter who understands complex woodworking concepts and engineering. You should work well with others as you will have people working under you and with you on a daily basis. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with veneer stitching and pressing.
You should:
-Have experience working with exotic veneers
-Be detail-oriented and committed to perfection
-Have an understanding of shop drawings
-Have an understanding of cabinet hardware
-Be comfortable setting up machinery for others
-Have excellent communication skills
