Description
Salary varies based upon experience and practicality.
The cabinet maker will be responsible for using and providing their own tools to complete tasks given: inclusive of specialty woodworking hand tools, routers, screw guns, drill bits, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Thoroughly study and get familiar with the project, shop drawings, approved samples and/or mock-ups species, finishing level, hardware, time allowances.
Layout job and prepare complete cut list and millwork list.
Fabricate various components of the job (Bases, Case assembly, End-panels, up-rights, Moldings, doors, drawers, faces, tops, jigs, templates, veneer work, etc.)
Assembly and installation of cabinets, drawers, doors, moldings, etc.
Assure functionality and accuracy of the build.
Review of every component for accuracy and quality must be done throughout, including during setup, cutting, molding, assembly, and disassembly.
Disassemble for finishing. This step requires proper and accurate labeling of every component.
Track actual build times using the appropriate project and fixture codes. Codes are provided by the shop foreman. These codes are used for estimating and scheduling and more importantly for progress reports, so consistency and accuracy is imperative.
Daily time sheets are to be prepared and submitted to shop foreman for review and approval.
Consult and report concerns or issues to shop foreman and project manager, this includes but is not limited to issues related to functionality, fabrication, time allowance and conflicting information.
Report equipment and/or tool issues to the shop foreman.
A copy of shop drawings with “as built notes” must be provided to the installation team; original will remain in the office for record.
Overtime may be required.
Ability to lift up-to 50 lbs.
