Title: Senior Millwork Project Engineer
Florida
Salary: 70-100K+
Reports To: VP of Engineering and Project Management
Description:
Responsible for the drafting and engineering of highly detailed shop drawings to be submitted to clients for approval, as well as given to fabrication for production of monumental quality architectural millwork, cabinetry, and furniture for luxury residential environments. Researches production requirements and specifications, as well as new technologies. Creates and manages project specific detail book and CAD blocks. Monitors and manages project drafting team by reviewing and redlining project drawings. Works closely with Project Management team to assure schedule and monumental quality are maintained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Field measurements (i.e. benchmarks, datum lines)
Define and create detail book for assigned work
Ability to generate detailed submittal drawings and to incorporate design changes and field dimension corrections as needed and work with project teams.
Collaborate with other engineers and drafts people
Interface with customers and internal project management to ensure design concepts meet clients needs and drawing releases meet schedule timelines
Interface with fabrication team to ensure accurate understanding of required details and quality control
Provides project management with status updates, correspondence, and appropriate reporting utilizing company softwares and systems.
Create material and parts lists
Perform shop floor inspections for accuracy and quality before releasing to Finishing
Post-production signoffs & updating as-built drawings
Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of custom architectural millwork/cabinetry fabrication, joinery details, materials (i.e. lumber, veneers, substrates), cabinet and door hardware, integration of appliances, metal, glass, mirror, etc.
Works with Project Manager to assist in scheduling engineers on various WOs, manage and maintain information flow from external & internal sources.
Qualifications & Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Unwavering commitment to the highest standards of quality and service
Minimum of 5 years experience in the custom woodworking industry and knowledge of AWI standards
3 to 5 years of AutoCAD experience
Strong computer skills including Windows-based applications and Microsoft Office suite
Ability to quickly adapt to company standards and processes
Fluency of the English language.
Communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential
