We're an established, small business in Rock Hill, SC, with over 40 years in the custom cabinetry business, producing high-end custom architectural millwork for residential and commercial clients. We are seeking an additional finisher to be part of our skilled team.
Candidate must know production finishing and ideally a minimum of 5 years of cabinet/millwork experience. The role also includes sanding, preparation, color-matching, and applying various finishes, stains, glazes, fillers, and topcoats. To complement proficiency and skills, the applicant needs to be willing to work as part of a cohesive team and independently, with motivation and a good attitude.
We use CA Technologies Cougar Air Assisted Airless System and Solvent-based M.L. Campbell Stains and Topcoats.
Requirements:
-Previous cabinetry finishing is preferred. The hourly pay rate will be based on experience.
-Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug testing and background checks.
-Physically able to lift and carry cabinet parts and wear a respirator.
-A great attitude, attention to detail, professionalism, and communication are all critical to being part of our team.
Job description:
-Our team members work full-time, Monday-Thursday, 7 am-5:30 pm. Occasional Friday and weekend work is available (for overtime pay).
While working, you will:
-Follow established safety rules and regulation is a requirement. Finishers must wear respirators as well as undergo yearly medical evaluations, including respirator fit checks (according to OSHA guidelines as well as our shop safety procedures), so it's critical that candidates have healthy respiratory and cardiovascular systems and are not claustrophobic.
-Maintain a safe and clean work environment; proper and thorough cleaning of equipment, finishing booth, and workspace is critical.
-Understand the various processes used in this role and follow them consistently from project to project, constantly evaluating their work quality and the materials and products being used.
-Be flexible to unavoidable schedule changes when necessary without compromising the quality of their work.
-Must work well with other employees (designers, project managers, woodworkers, installers, and the scheduler).
-Be able to accurately estimate the finishing time and materials needed for specific jobs.
-Manage time and space to complete multiple jobs simultaneously.
