Opposing Spirals

Listing #1129 Listed on: 02/19/2008 Name: Jesse Shaw

Mahogany & Walnut.
The piece was turned and then hand carved. The interior walnut spiral twists opposite of the exterior mahogany spiral. When grinding pepper the two spiral pieces twist in opposing directions creating a nice visual effect.

That is amazing, I have always been enthralled with spiral turnings. How long did that take to make? If you were to sell one what would the price be for the pepper mill? Awesome work!

Hey Matt,
The Piece took about a full week and a half to make.
The brunt of the work was carving and sanding. It is very labor intensive to create so it is not cheap. Thanks for the post.

You look like the person to ask. I want to make some tappered beaded columns. The bead also tappers from large to small at the top. What kind of jig am I looking for? Thanks

what you are needing can be made on a Trend router lathe,I dont think they are expensive

This is gorgeous! How does it work? (Where do the peppercorns go- is there a clear tube inside or something?) Is it fairly durable? AND HOW MUCH? I love it!
thx!-Betsy W.
