Question for Dennis11/6
There is only one thickness of this mounting plate.
The overlay is changed by adjusting the edge bore distance (K) on the door. For a 1-1/4" overlay, you would use a K = 6mm and a full overlay hinge. The hinge could be soft close or standard and any opening angle (94, 110, 120 or 165). It is frequently used to hinge the pie cut corner doors to the face frame with a 165 degree hinge in a kitchen where all of the others doors use a full overlay (1-1/4”) compact style Euro hinge.
The machining of the face frame can be done with the 35mm hinge bit and your hinge boring machine (It’s a 17.5mm radius cut, or one half the diameter of the hinge boring bit.)
Here are the details and a chart illustrating how the K measurement can change the overlay.
If this is Al in New Jersey, I would be happy to send a couple samples for you to tinker with before cutting into the good face frames.
Side note: We affectionately call this plate by the nickname “Mezzaluna”.
Best of luck,
Thanks Dennis please send the samples. I do almost all frame less and have used Salice since mid 90's.
