HSD spindle question

Hi All,
Maybe a stupid question, but do any of the HSD spindles have a mechanical motor brake? Thanks.

Not a stupid question. My understanding is that they all use the braking circuit in the frequency drive.

BH,
Thanks for that. Was wondering if there was some sort of mechanical brake or block that needs an ‘enable’ signal or something similar. Or maybe even just a drawbar that locks rotation if there is no tool holder present?
Just want to make sure I’m not taking crazy pills here…

James,
A mechanical brake? Like with brake pads? Or is it activated with a pulse of electrical counter current?
Thanks,

The brake, also known as the holding brake, is a component that is released by electricity. Generally, after a servo motor with a brake is selected, it is integrated with the motor.
