Hello, I will be purchasing a Sandya Win CS 63 24” wide belt used year 2000 I believe 9hp and is 3p.
I cannot fit a larger machine,
The machine will be coming into the dealer as a trade when it arrives they will fully inspect and repair/replace anything that is needed and calibrate the machine. I know how to spot obvious things like worn roller/bed but what else should i be looking out for (condition of jack screws? Is there anything I should measure, run boards through, check
I am not to worried as this is a very reputable dealer but if I am there before I sign off I might as well do what i can do.
My primary use for this machine will be finish sanding of solid wood, and calibrating shop sawn veneers to (1/8” - 3/32”). I would like to put a panel with commercial veneer through the machine but I doubt that is possible
I typically RO to 180 then light hand sand with 180 to remove the swirl marks. Not sure what my process would be with a wide belt as i have never owned one but the parts that come off my planer/joint will have been cut with a Helical. The resawn will have one side jointed and the other off the bandsaw.
Any comments, tips suggestions welcome, thanks Mark
I will probably cross post in a few other places just as an FYI
