Description
Dynamic, well-established architectural woodworking company located in Avon, CT seeking an experienced Finishing Sander with opportunities for cross training within all aspects of millwork finishing. This individual will be responsible for sanding, buffing, polishing and toning various materials to produce high-quality products.
· Experience with toning, sanding solid lumber and veneer wood in preparation for finishing
· Sanding, buffing and polishing to achieve desired surface in preparation for primer, paint, and/or varnishes
· Inspect finished products for quality finish and make any necessary adjustments
· Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production flow Requirements
· Assists with daily operations of the Finishing team’s assigned tasks
· Responsible for product touch-ups preceding application of finish coatings as needed
· Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
· Ability to work and communicate well with others
· Demonstrates thorough attention to detail
· Able to stand for extended period of time and able to carry/lift 50lbs.
Qualifications/Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Experience preparing materials for finishing (Scuff sanding, wiping/cleaning material surfaces, touch-ups etc.
· Basic shop skills, such as using hand tools
· Experience or familiarity with woodworking products

Pay: $19.00 - $26.47 per hour
Expected hours: M-F, 6:00am-2:30pm, 40+ hr. per week
