Description
This position is responsible for the daily operation of assembly or sub-assembly to form completed furniture products. Insures the operational efficiency and accuracy of the position to support the operations of furniture manufacturing to meet customer requirements and timely delivery.
• Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts list, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Required to assemble parts to form completed products.
• Required to use jigs, fixtures, clamps and other fabricated units to assemble product.
• Operate router(s), drill(s), driver(s) and drill press.
• Prepare product for finishing or packing by sanding or cleaning and inspecting.
• Maintain hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, tape measure, chisels, etc.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Follow simple assembly drawings and/or verbal instructions as provided by the supervisor and/or assistant.
• Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise, dust, paint/finish and glue or adhesives. Must be able to stand/walk for 10 hour shifts and possess the ability to frequently bend and lift 40 lbs and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
