Millwork Draftsperson, on-site (Rockville MD)
We are seeking a full-time, skilled Sketchup Pro millwork draftsman to join our team.
The ideal candidate must have experience in the millwork industry, including familiarity with rendering millwork construction using Sketchup Pro, using Layout for presentation, and shop drawings. This is a primary requirement of the position.
This job is not entry-level and requires at least 3 years of experience working with Sketchup rendering drawings for the millwork industry. In addition, the candidate must understand AWI Quality Standards and be capable of reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications. The successful candidate will draft shop drawings to the company's standards, update the drawings as changes occur, and ensure all necessary information is included. Familiarity with woodworking machinery is also preferred. Assistance with project management is also part of the job description. We're a small shop of four employees, and we sometimes must wear more than one hat. Our projects are custom residential and cover a wide range of styles. Compensation is 60K/year. We offer a Simple IRA savings plan, five (5) paid vacation days after twelve (12) months of continuous employment, ten (10) paid vacation days after three (3) years of continuous employment, and one (3) personal days after 90 days of continuous employment. We also provide three (3) paid holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's) after 90 days of employment.
