Sarasota Architectural Woodworking is a custom cabinet and millwork/casework manufacturer catering to builders, architects, and designers. Our reputation of quality work delivered on time has contributed to our success in the exclusive custom home market. We are located in sunny Sarasota, FL. We are seeking a key member of our team: an experienced cabinet drafting engineer to design and oversee fabrication of custom woodworking projects for high end residences. Must have 5+ years’ experience and working industry knowledge of AutoCAD and CNC programming experience.
The individual in this role will use AutoCAD to create shop drawings for client review and manufacturing purposes. The individual will learn how to process CNC cut lists, as well as custom CNC programs to assist with our products.
We would prefer someone who has bench experience in cabinet building.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Reading and interpreting architectural construction documents.
- Gather pertinent information related to the project including material and hardware specifications.
- Drafting casework and millwork per project documents and quotes, and per Sarasota Architectural Woodworking standards and details.
- Prepare detailed drawings for the fabrication and installation of cabinetry.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and installation teams to guarantee the accurate translation of designs into real-world applications.
- Manage existing projects, overseeing the coordination between design and on-site teams for efficient project execution.
- Attend meetings and/or site visits as required to gather information needed to proceed with production.
- Revise shop drawings with field dimensions and client notes.
- Utilize Mozaik to generate CNC work orders and cut lists for manufacturing.
Requirements to succeed:
- Ability to read blue prints and construction documents.
- Practical experience in woodworking and cabinet design.
- Experience drafting with AutoCAD is required.
- Ability to develop portions of a project with little oversight.
- Knowledgeable in architectural drafting and detailing techniques.
- Strong design skills.
- Technical understanding of construction and processes.
- Experience using Mozaik is desired, but not required.
The candidate should be well-groomed and present a professional appearance as they will be representing Sarasota Architectural Woodworking in and out of the office.
Compensation negotiable depending on previous experience in related fields of architecture, cabinetry, casework, millwork, construction, etc. Wage and bonus will be commensurate with ability and performance.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
