Shop Manager - Millwork
Florida
Salary: $75 - $90K per year

Key Responsibilities:

• The Shop Manager is responsible for day-to-day production activities within the millwork shop.
• This position is responsible for reviewing blueprints and architectural drawings for constructability and provide input and insight regarding millwork fabrication techniques.
• The ideal candidate must be well versed in modern millwork manufacturing and production techniques such as a CNC, wood router, beam saw, edge bander, joiners, panel saw, and shapers.
• The Shop Manager position must consistently and effectively communicate with the Drafting Manager, Production Manager and Assistant Shop Manager to convey any fabrication or potential installation challenges.
• Responsible for ensuring millwork shop drawings are fabricatable (review drawings for details), take offs (estimate time and material to fabricate) and prep for build.
• Must ensure production is completed safely, efficiently, in a timely manner, and confirm the quality of the final product meets Company standards.

Requirements:

• Advanced knowledge of architectural millwork fabrication, wood and solid surface materials, wood furniture and cabinetry fabrication and processes, equipment and tools.
• Advanced ability to review shop drawings for constructability and provide input to ensure the millwork fabrication process is streamlined and efficient.
• 5+ years of experience working in a leadership capacity in the millwork industry.
• 5+ years of experience working as a custom millwork carpenter in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations, finished carpentry and cabinet making.
• Proficient in cabinetmaking and general woodworking elements such as melamine, veneer, plastic laminates, glue and dowel assembly, print reading, finish detailing, and the set up and operation of basic wood shop equipment.
• Comprehensive understanding of milled wood products and the production process.
• Blueprint reading: 5 years (Required)
• Commercial construction: 5 years (Preferred)
