Starting base salary: $ 85-115K
Summary
-MFG Engineer assures that solutions are engineered and released on time to meet customers’ timelines, and that work is released to production in a way that allows seamless and timely manufacturing. Our engineers develop and coordinate effective and code compliant millwork solutions in a team with company Project Managers and other Engineering personnel.
Responsibilities
-Interpret construction drawings to build products/ parts with 3D AutoCAD with machining for joinery and hardware which will be nested and have CNC G-code generated
-Assess the drawings to determine the proper starting product to be modified to create new custom products; ability to create custom products in 3D AutoCAD
-Assign proper materials to products with attention to thickness, board sizes and grain/pattern directions
-Include and assign machining to parts for all applicable hardware
-Understanding of basic machine operations and distinguishing proper tooling to assign for each machining action
-Interpret architectural and interior design drawings to create 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD
-Prepare construction information (i.e. drawings, cut lists, BOM) providing the necessary information for programming, machining and assembly operations
-Work with internal and external project teams face-to- face, via phone or conferencing tools to interpret owners and architects design intent
-Prepare approval drawings that ensure all the essential product information is signed off by the customer
-Engineer product solutions that meet Company supply chain, manufacturing and installation capabilities
-Escalate situations that would lead to cost overages to the project manager for resolution and provides alternatives
-Provide purchasing and project management with accurate material lists and takeoffs in a timely manner to meet project schedules
-Adheres to Company engineering conventions and where applicable leads the development of standards and deployment of system
Requirements
-Three or more years of experience engineering a retail and/or commercial millwork product with a high level of purchasing and manufacturing interaction
-Ability to effectively communicate & collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization, in various workgroups, departments, and skillsets
-Extensive experience with a multitude of materials (solid wood and veneer, laminates, MDF, plywood, glass, metal, and acrylics)
-Expert knowledge of functional hardware for Architectural millwork, casework, and other millwork applications
-Ability to use basic office software applications (specifically MS Excel, Word and Outlook)
-Diligent and persistent in follow through & handle several high priority tasks at the same time
-Demonstrated, expert knowledge of 3D AutoCAD. CutRite experience preferred
-Expert knowledge of joinery methods in a wide variety of millwork products
-Proven track record in leading the development of millwork solutions
-Expert knowledge of WI, ADA, and other relevant standards
-Use and understanding of ERP systems, M1 a plus
-Ability to work in a self-directed course of action
