Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage production by developing a schedule that eliminates lulls at any single station, minimizes duration of WIP on the production floor, and that completes work ahead of schedule yet conserves warehousing space.
Manage purchasing, receiving, material handling personnel to meet production schedules by ensuring all elements required for production are available on time, accurate, complete and delivered to production stations before needed.
Interpret project documentation to effectively manage Production Engineering personnel to efficiently use materials, labor, and equipment to meet delivery, production, and quality goals.
Ensure accuracy of production documentation/direction including Work Orders, Purchase Requests, Pack Lists, Manufacturing Change Orders, and schedules.
Manage Quality through root cause analysis of equipment, production, and material deficiencies. Incorporate into appropriate SOP updates and provide or assist with training as needed to correct.
Identify and mitigate schedule risks, including manufacturing lead times, raw material lead times, department capacity, labor capacity, rush orders, drop-ins or other issues that impact the schedule.
Identify and promptly respond to changes in schedule that could impact the company’s ability to meet customer requirements and on-time delivery.
Monitor actual output versus the master production plan, identifying gaps and taking corrective actions.
Continue to improve production processes by optimizing key responsibilities such as execution of daily orders, productivity, efficiency, and process adherence.
Recommend and assist with plant layout changes as necessary to improve flow, efficiency, safety or other observations as needed.
Hold Kaizen meetings regularly to foster improvement and to resolve/prevent any exceptions (Safety, Quality, Efficiency, etc.) and at each occurrence of infractions.
Manage development and ongoing updates of departmental and company SOP’s.

Reporting requirements:
Manage material inventory reports. Semiannual full inventories in June and December. Cycle counts should touch each item quarterly.
Manage finished goods inventory weekly
Weekly KPI summaries
Accuracy of Salesforce start and end dates as well as % complete real time
Accuracy of Sales Force Shipment items real time
Material and product demand forecasts as needed
Weekly shop floor task report (schedule)
