As a Cabinet Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling high-quality custom millwork and cabinetry while collaborating with a team of professionals to meet project specifications and deadlines. We are looking for individuals who are lean-minded, focused on continuous improvement, and committed to optimizing workflows and reducing waste to drive efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assembly and Quality Control
Utilize a variety of joinery and assembly methods to construct custom cabinets and millwork pieces.
Ensure each assembled piece meets the design specifications and quality standards.
Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify and correct defects.
2. Tool Operation and Maintenance
Proficiently use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and templates to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Maintain tools and equipment to maximize performance and longevity.
Create and utilize jigs to improve efficiency and accuracy when necessary.
3. Problem-Solving and Efficiency Improvements
Identify and address assembly-related challenges, including warped wood, laminate bubbles, or material inconsistencies.
Collaborate with the team to suggest and implement lean process improvements.
Handle material shortages or defects by communicating issues and finding timely solutions.
4. Team Collaboration and Communication
Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and fellow assemblers to ensure smooth workflow.
Assist team members in overcoming challenges and promote a collaborative work environment.
Follow up on instructions and clarify any discrepancies with supervisors as needed.
5. Work Organization and Time Management
Manage multiple assembly tasks and prioritize work based on project deadlines.
Organize critical information for each project to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain a clean, safe, and productive workstation, embodying lean principles to reduce clutter and waste.

Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in cabinet assembly or custom millwork.
Strong understanding of different types of joinery and woodworking techniques.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
Familiarity with quality control standards in woodworking.
Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in troubleshooting defects and ensuring project accuracy.
Preferred Skills:
Experience creating and using jigs or templates.
Prior experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
Leadership or team mentorship experience is a plus.
