VP of Purchasing / Procurement - WA

Starting base salary: $150-200K plus HUGE bonus potential!
Responsibilities
-Conduct regular supplier site visits (at least annually) to maintain strong partnerships and position the branch as the preferred customer for high-volume suppliers.
-Work with the VP of Strategy and the sales team to generate leads, prospect for new business, and develop long-term customer relationships.
-Achieve and surpass sales and gross margin objectives for the branch, targeting $250M in annual sales and $37.5M in gross margin (15% GM).
-Collaborate with the VP of Strategy to lead sales meetings, provide training, and monitor the performance of branch operations.
-Oversee purchasing operations for the branch, encompassing responsibilities for local yard customers and regional/multifamily accounts.
-Maintain open communication with the executive team, providing feedback and insights to support strategic decision-making.
-Coordinate with dispatch, logistics, and account management teams to guarantee timely and precise product deliveries.
-Stay informed on market conditions and pricing trends, leveraging research to guide solicitation and pricing strategies.
-Balance customer demands and workflow priorities in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficiency and satisfaction.
-Actively track account profitability, monitor customer satisfaction and loyalty, and address any concerns proactively.
-Foster and strengthen relationships with suppliers, mills, and other distributors of forest and lumber products.
-Manage product shipments, ensuring smooth operations throughout the entire delivery process.
-Deliver exceptional customer service, acting as a reliable point of contact for project owners.
Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree required.
-Operates effectively within a framework guided by core principles.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and various web-based applications.
-Embraces a growth-oriented mindset and demonstrates tenacity and perseverance.
-High achiever with a proven history of exceptional performance and accomplishments.
-Demonstrates advanced skills in data analysis, strategic thinking, and problem-solving.
-Passionate about contributing to a dynamic and high-energy organizational environment.
-Self-motivated professional with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple high-priority tasks effectively.
-Existing relationships or deal opportunities with GCs or framer project owners in the multifamily industry are highly desirable.
-Over 15 years of expertise in purchasing from mills, lumber suppliers, and forest product distributors within a 500-mile radius of the Seattle region.
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales to general contractors (GCs) or framing project owners across multifamily, commercial, or residential construction sectors.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with colleagues at all organizational levels; communicates in a direct and transparent manner.
