Hello! Key Millwork Is currently looking for a fulltime Draftsman/woman to lead our drafting department. This position is preferably an in-house position; however we are open to discussing remote opportunities. We are looking for someone with a good amount of experience who could work into our library and our standards without a ton of training.
Job Responsibilities are very typical of this position and would include (but are not limited to):
-Create detailed shop drawings using CAD software (Microvellum) based on architectural plans and specifications.
- Interpret architectural and design documents to ensure accuracy in millwork and casework production.
- Develop material take-offs (MTOs) and cut lists to assist with procurement and production planning.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and manufacturing capabilities.
-Ensure compliance with industry standards and building codes, including AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) standards.
-Optimize designs for production efficiency, considering CNC machining, joinery techniques, and assembly methods.
-Identify and resolve design conflicts or discrepancies before fabrication begins.
-Prepare and update project documentation including revisions, RFIs, and as-built drawings.
-Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for hardware, laminates, veneers, and specialty millwork components.
-Assist in continuous improvement efforts by refining drafting standards, templates, and workflow processes.
