FACILITY SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities. The position plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs.
Responsibilities
Manages program to ensure the facility assets are continually kept up-to-date within industry standards and that best practices in maintenance management are deployed.
Performs a variety of maintenance tasks on building projects including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, pest control, grounds maintenance, and any other general building maintenance.
Monitors and repairs production equipment as needed.
Plans and implements a preventative maintenance program, including but not limited to: scheduling of preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption to building operations, performing and/or delegating preventative maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified maintenance staff member, balancing work loads, orders parts and equipment required for repair, and maintenance and installation of new equipment.
Ensures that the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program meets industry standards and best practices.
Maintains a documented maintenance history on all equipment, purchases, and other facility expenditures.
Receives work orders for Preventative and Corrective maintenance on critical systems and building physical structure. Finalize work orders by completing and uploading necessary documentation.
Maintains fleet maintenance and repair schedule to ensure vehicles are safe and available.
Drives process improvements through implementing the results of self-generated audits and implementation of industry leading maintenance practices.
Manages and oversees contractors performing services for company.
Routinely inspect interior and exterior of buildings and facilities for safe working conditions.
Responds, as needed, to emergencies such as system failures, fire alarms, severe weather, etc. Maintains parking lots and snow removal.
Ensures compliance with building codes, OSHA, and health and safety standards.
Works closely with Safety Officer to ensure compliance and/or correct deficiencies when identified.
Determine machine operator employee training needs and coordinate with Administrator to schedule within training Grant program requirements.
Daily work logs are kept and submits a week end report each Friday.

Mechanical aptitude, with ability to maintain and repair machinery and equipment.
Strong time management, multitasking and organizational skills.
Able to troubleshoot electrical and electronic components and be able to read electrical schematics.
Able to diagnose and repair problems with computer programmed equipment.
Knowledgeable concerning relevant health, safety, and building codes and standards.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Follow through communication to assure success.
Strong analytical skills.
Able to clearly explain what needs to be done and schedule for work to be completed.
Attention to and comprehension of fine details.
Leadership skills to motivate and coordinate employees, as well as deal with any disciplinary issues that may come up.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent, bachelors degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant maintenance, including with electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and process improvement establishing an effective preventive maintenance program.
Able to read, write and speak English.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Track record of good performance, on-time, positive work ethic.
Must pass initial and periodic drug and alcohol testing.
