The project manager's job is as follows:
Take a hand off from estimating.
Become completely familiar with the scope and specifications of the job.
Hand off the job to drafting and engineering with a schedule for shop drawing submittal completion.
Supervise the submittal process and review the completed shop drawing submittal before it is sent out.
Create a schedule for production based on the most current knowledge and the customer's requirements.
Field measures the job.
Break the job down into work packages based on the schedule and Lean principles.
Participate actively in the engineering of complex items.
Order job specific materials based on the production schedule.
Review and release work packages into the shop in cooperation with the production manager.
Monitor progress of production and adjust schedule to field conditions and construction schedule.
Maintain contact with customer and customer's field personnel.
Review change order requests and estimate for pricing.
Monitor progress of overall job and report to the accounting department for progress billings.
Negotiate installation subcontracts when subcontractor is required.
Collaborate with field superintendent when in-house installation is used.
Troubleshoot installation and maintain sufficient manpower to stay on schedule. Resolve any issues.
Attend site meetings as required.
Do project closeouts and monitor punch list.
Estimate new projects when time allows.
Job Salary
$62k - $85k
Relocation Package up to $1,500.00

Requirements:
Education or equivalent combination of experience in Construction Management, Wood working in shop and the field, Engineering, finishing, from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
4-9 years experience in commercial cabinetry and millwork.
4+ years Project management
Excellent time management and critical thinking skills a must. A problem solver.
Leadership skill set a must.
Able to read architectural drawings/blue prints.
Knowledge of advanced computer skills, PC based. Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Blue Beam.
Knowledge of cabinet-making techniques, installation techniques, tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade.
Skill in estimating time and material requirements of work projects assigned.
Skill in supervising the work of others.
Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week, weekends or holidays as required by business needs.
