We are a high-end residential custom cabinet shop seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to join our team. Our shop is around 4,000 sqft, equipped with top-of-the-line machinery and tools, including a sliding table saw, saw stop table saw, router table, edge bander, drum sander, hinge bore machine, and all necessary tools to produce. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team and ensure the successful execution of projects.
Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Naples, FL
Salary: $65k - $75k per year, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
Production Scheduling: Create and manage production schedules based on current and upcoming projects. Adjust schedules as necessary based on field conditions and timelines.
Oversight & Management: Supervise and monitor day-to-day production, ensuring the team meets deadlines, quality and production goals.
Job Familiarity: Become fully knowledgeable about the scope and specifications of each job, including reviewing ID drawings for errors or concerns.
Shop Drawings & Cut Lists: Review and ensure the accuracy of shop drawings and produce cut lists based on Designer IDs for shop crew.
Quality Control: Oversee production, finishing, and installation to maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the process.
Production & Equipment Knowledge: Knowledge of production equipment and shop floor planning to streamline operations.
Project Estimating: Provide accurate project estimates for time, labor, and materials.
Team Leadership: Motivate, mentor, and supervise shop staff to ensure high performance, continuous improvement, and a collaborative environment.
Field Measurements & Cabinet Layout: Perform field measurements and create accurate cabinet layouts.
Material Ordering: Create specific material order lists tailored to each project.
Site Meetings: Attend site meetings as needed to provide project updates and discuss details with superintendents.
Punch List Completion: Assess and complete project punch lists, ensuring all final details are addressed and the project is completed to specification.
Requirements:
Education/Experience: Combination of formal education or equivalent experience in shop management, woodworking, and carpentry, along with comparable skills and abilities.
Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience in cabinetry and millwork, with a focus on production and shop management.
Project Management: Proven project management experience, with the ability to estimate time, material needs, and keep projects on track.
Time Management & Problem Solving: Exceptional time management skills, critical thinking, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to guide, motivate, and manage a team of skilled shop employees.
Drawing & Blueprint Knowledge: Proficient in reading and understanding shop drawings/blueprints.
Cabinetry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of cabinet-making techniques, installation methods, tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade.
Supervisory Skills: Ability to supervise and manage a team of skilled workers, ensuring high-quality production and efficient workflow.
