Job Title:
Millwork Estimator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Millwork Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for custom millwork projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications, material costs, labor requirements, and project timelines. This role requires a deep understanding of architectural drawings, woodworking materials, and construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to prepare precise millwork estimates.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and vendors to determine project scope and requirements.
• Calculate material, labor, and production costs to generate accurate and competitive bid proposals.
• Source and evaluate material and subcontractor costs to ensure competitive pricing.
• Identify potential cost-saving measures without compromising quality or compliance.
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and present estimates to management and clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.
• Assist in negotiating contracts and finalizing budgets with clients and vendors.
• Support the sales and project management teams in pricing strategies and cost analysis.
• Keep accurate records of each project.
• Submit request for information when something is not clear.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Millwork Estimator or in a similar estimating role within the millwork, woodworking, or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of millwork materials, fabrication techniques, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, architectural drawings, and CAD files.
• Experience with estimating software, OST takeoff and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
