Description
Seeking experienced Site Supterintendent with Carpentry/ Cabinetmaking/ Restoration experience to run the restoration work crews at a NY State Armory located in midtown Manhattan. 25,000 sq. fteet of historic rooms with Raised Quartered White Oak Paneling 12' high with Dentil Moldings, all Doors, 1,000's feet of Wrought Iron Railings, 26 Fireplaces, Flat Plaster, Historic Protection; to be restored over a two year period. Olek's portion of job is approximately 6% of overall site work ongoing. PLA job, most employees are union, and from Olek's shop. M-F, 7:00am -3:30 pm.
Responsible for
-efficiently scheduling and utilizing multi-craft labor force (from about five unions),
-monitoring and deploying labor to work effectively on-site, using proper techniques, and ensuring that
craftsman productivity is high
-timekeeping,
-ordering materials and coordinating shop work to run the job smoothly,
-accommodating the G.C.'s ongoing non-historic renovations.
- ensuring that job site workmen are working safely, following OSHA requirements
Olek has been in business since 1950, has other public works projects running simultaneously, in NY, NJ, and various southern and midwestern states. Must have OSHA 30. Applicant to obtain a 10 hr. SST card within 3 weeks of starting work (generally required for NYC public works jobs).
