Metropolitan Woodwork is a leader in custom architectural millwork and high-end woodworking solutions. We specialize in delivering precision-crafted interiors for commercial projects. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Architectural Woodworking Estimator to join our growing team.



Position Summary



The Architectural Woodworking Estimator is responsible for analyzing architectural drawings,
specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for architectural woodwork projects.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of millwork processes and materials as well as their associated costs, and industry best practices.



Key Responsibilities



  • Review architectural drawings and specifications to determine scope of work.

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing for materials and services.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to ensure alignment on project scope and costs.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or design intent.

  • Maintain organized records of estimates, drawings, and related documentation.

  • Participate in project hand-offs and provide detailed estimate breakdowns to production teams.

  • Assist with value engineering efforts and prepare alternate bid proposals when necessary.



Qualifications



  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural millwork or woodworking estimating.

  • Strong knowledge of woodworking materials, fabrication techniques, and finishes.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.

  • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Excel, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, etc.).

  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

$75,000.00 – $135,000.00 per year
