Description
We’re seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Cabinetry Finisher to oversee the finishing process of custom wood cabinetry. This role demands mastery in applying stains, paints, glazes, and protective coatings to achieve flawless, client-specific finishes. You’ll lead finishing operations, ensure quality control, and collaborate with production and installation teams to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply a variety of finishes including stains, lacquers, conversion varnishes, glazes, and waterborne coatings
- Perform custom color matching and touch-ups with precision
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections and correct them through sanding, filling, or refinishing
- Operate and maintain spray booths, HVLP systems, and other finishing equipment
- Lead and mentor junior finishers, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers and installers to meet timelines and client expectations
- Maintain a clean, organized finishing area and manage inventory of finishing materials
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in high-end cabinetry finishing
- Expert knowledge of wood species and their finishing characteristics
- Proficiency in color theory and custom matching
- Familiarity with both solvent-based and waterborne systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
- Ability to lead a team and communicate effectively across departments
- Valid driver’s license preferred
