Summary
The Department Manager will oversee the drafting, engineering, CNC Programming in-house staff and any outsourced contractors. This includes field measuring when required, customer interactions, and working with their Project Managers to ensure the projects are being drawn and engineered to our contractual agreement with our clients. If scope of work or design changes are required or made, this position will work with the PM to generate the appropriate approval documents. Utilize the company's provided ERP system, Innergy, to maintain the proper documentation of all project correspondence within the department. Make use of other software tools provided to assure that we are delivering the project per contract and that the project remains on schedule and budget.
Responsibilities
-Exhibit solid organization skills and be detail oriented.
-CNC Programming and Management of other Programmers
-Work independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
-Draft Concept drawings, Shop drawings and Fabrication drawings
-Establish and maintain effective working relations ships with other Staff and Clients.
-Work with IT in software management and department tools for an efficient work environment
-Exercise discretion and good judgement at all times in all contexts and maintain confidentiality.
-Review team production to ensure that team is working efficiently, completing tasks and remains on schedule.
-Demonstrate skills necessary to look at situations and processes critically to make recommendations for improvement.
-Possess the knowledge and general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural policy related to job tasks.
-Apply effective techniques to create working relationships with others to achieve common goals; successfully communicates and collaborate with others to achieve goals.
Requirements
-Take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situation where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
-Think critically and creatively, have a high standard of integrity, and be motivated to incorporate best practices into the organizational culture.
-Demonstrated use of various computer programs including and /equivalent to Microsoft Office Suite and Company ERP system (Innergy).
-Working knowledge of the trade; materials, tools and task specific sequencing required for installations.
-Ability to communication (written & verbal) within the organization and with external trades and clients.
-5 years’ experience in millwork, with 2 years management in a supervisory roll preferred
-Proficient in or knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Lumion, Solid Edge, NX Cam
-Appropriate combination of education and experience may be substituted.
-Associate degree or higher preferred in Architectural Design or Drafting
