Description
The Rough Mill Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for participating in overseeing the organization’s wood cabinet door Rough Mill. This position reports directly to the Director of Operations/Production Manager ensuring production meets the company’s performance objectives and customer expectations.
This position takes ownership of the department, assisting the Director of Operations/Production Manager by managing and facilitating the production process of products with a focus on quality, efficiency and raw material yield. The Rough Mill Manager has a strong ability to identify systematic problems that affect quality, productivity, cost, and offers the ability to implement solutions independently. Effective communication skills are key with members of the leadership team.

Essential Functions and Responsible:

• You take actions required to maintain throughput and plant productivity to meet customer demands and company revenue projections.
• You maintain manpower efficiency standards with a constant focus on productivity and efficiency improvements.
• You manage product quality, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
• You monitor the condition of the department and address housekeeping issues in the moment.
• You have a “hands on” leadership style with strong coaching, training and team building skills.
• You provide regular, detailed and honest feedback to senior management.
• You possess an ability to inspire others to succeed.
• You collaborate with other members of the organization to ensure best product.
• Supervise 4-10 people
Skills & Responsibilities Required:
• Self-starter and a team player that will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Must be mechanically adept with a comprehensive understanding of common industry machinery, equipment, and tooling including molders, gang ripsaws, and CNC machining centers is a plus.
• Experience managing raw material inventory in an organized and efficient manner.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and implementations.
• Always communicating effectively and professionally. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to juggle a diverse and variable workload.
• Self-motivated and accepts responsibility for actions.
• Strong leadership skills are a must.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing supervisory experience
Schedule: Monday through Friday – Day Shift; with the ability to work flexible hours or weekends if needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Benefits: paid weekly, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid Holiday’s and paid vacation.
Pay is based on experience but up to starting salary of $95K
