Cabinet Engineer – LaFata Cabinets
LaFata Cabinets, a leader in custom cabinetry, is seeking a Cabinet Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in designing and engineering cabinetry that meets customer specifications while ensuring efficient manufacturing and on-time project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed cabinet designs, shop drawings, cut lists, and CNC-ready files based on project requirements and architectural plans.
Create and maintain CAD/CAM files and bills of material (BOMs) for production.
Review and interpret customer orders, blueprints, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility.
Collaborate with sales, production, and installation teams to clarify technical details and ensure alignment with customer expectations.
Optimize designs for efficient manufacturing, minimal waste, and production accuracy.
Troubleshoot design or manufacturing issues and recommend solutions.
Qualifications:
Engineering, Drafting, Industrial Design, or related field experience.
Proven, hands-on experience in cabinetry, woodworking, millwork, or related manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CAD software (Cabinet Vision, AutoCAD, Microvellum, Insight, or 2020 Design a plus).
Strong understanding of woodworking materials, cabinet construction techniques, and kitchen layouts.
Ability to read and interpret architectural/technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and excellent communication skills.
