Sr. Product/ Project Engineer (Not Remote)

Description: Works with Project Manager to assist in scheduling engineers on various WOs by keeping engineering task list updated. Responsible for document management and maintaining information flow from outside sources to internal sources and filing. Responsible for directing drafting resources, providing accurate information, and managing their work output. Define and create details for assigned work as well as assisting others with appropriate details needs. Always apply value engineering practices to find time and money savings throughout the life cycle of the sub job to include installation sequencing. Mentor project engineers and draftsperson is in the proper CAD techniques. Make sure drawing logs are accurate and up to date including buyout vendors. Identify and Tee up list of RFIs for the project manager. Revise drawings per PM/PE and Step 2 reviews. Revises drawing per Redline revisions. Flags changes in scope to identify potential Change Request opportunities and reports them to the PM. Take and or assist with field dimensioning and Leica scanning and conversions. Works with Project Manager to obtain project objectives.

Duties and Requirements:
Interfaces with project management/sales throughout the product development life cycle to ensure design concepts meet clients needs and drawing releases meet schedule timelines.
Provides project management with project status updates, correspondence, and appropriate reporting using Sage 300, Smartsheet schedule task list, RFI and OILs.
Updates and maintains Sage 300 Drawing Log and drawings files on the Company Share folder.
Participates in Pre-production meetings with Estimating and Project Management to ensure designs reflect estimated construction methods.
Value engineering whenever possible
Creates drawings to meet customer desires but maintains budget consciousness.
Auto CAD best practices and serves as a mentor to other for the same.
Builds and maintains confidence of company by exposing and educating oneself to best practices.
Should be proactive in researching and experimenting with new materials with CAD/CAM technologies.
Maintains Company CAD database and archives historical data.
Provides individual contribution in problem solving efforts on projects to improve quality and reduce costs.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must come from the Luxury High End Residential market.
4-Year degree in drafting or related subject.
10+ years experience in the custom woodworking industry.
Strong computer skills including AutoCAD, Windows-based applications, Microsoft Office, Smartsheets and Sage 300.
Must possess strong statistical and mathematical aptitude, as well as a solid understanding of the English language
Communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are essential
