Studio Practice is a high-end custom millwork and fabrication shop working on some of the most demanding residential and retail projects in NYC and beyond. We build complex, design-driven work — and we’re looking for people who take real pride in craftsmanship.
We are hiring across levels:
• Lead Carpenters
• Skilled Shop Assistants / Junior Carpenters
Who This Is For:
Lead Carpenters
You’ve been doing this a long time. You can take a set of drawings and own the build.
• 10+ years in high-end millwork or cabinetry
• Strong understanding of construction methods, joinery, and sequencing
• Ability to lead small teams and push work through efficiently
• Comfortable working from shop drawings and coordinating with PMs/drafters
• You care about fit, finish, and getting it right the first time
Shop Assistants / Junior Carpenters
You’ve got real shop experience and want to get better.
• 3+ years in a millwork or cabinet shop
• Familiar with tools, materials, and fabrication processes
• Willing to take direction and move quickly
• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
• Motivated to grow into a higher-level role
What You’ll Be Doing
• Fabricating custom cabinetry, furniture, and architectural millwork
• Working with hardwoods, veneers, and specialty materials
• Operating shop equipment (table saw, edge bander, CNC support, etc.)
• Reading and interpreting shop drawings
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
• Collaborating with a tight, skilled team to hit deadlines
