GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Independently the incumbent develops the strategy for and manages all operational production activities for the company. The Production Manager is required to have experience in production best practices, manufacturing techniques and processes, precision tools, equipment, and machinery expertise, lean manufacturing, operational excellence, quality control, and people leadership. Responsible for the management of all production staff, including oversight for the effective completion of assigned tasks, and execution of performance management in accordance with company policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operations
Execute collection, recording, analysis and reporting of production output per workstation daily.
Responsible for the planning, development, implementation and management of production staff resource planning to include workstation assignment.
Responsible for collaborating in the review and analysis of product launches and designing the process for production.
Time creation and ongoing maintenance of spreadsheets / data for calculating production efficiencies and SKU forecasting.
Effectively identify and communicate maintenance matters to the maintenance department.
Develop, implement, and manage quality assurance and quality control programs for production activities.
Provide leadership and guidance for all continuous improvement activities for the production department.
Develop, implement, and manage the creation and updates of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production department.
Analyze current production processing and practices and periodically develop and recommend process improvements to improve efficiency, quality, safety, productivity, etc.
Ensure uniformity in products by consistently reviewing production outcomes and results and determining effective adherence of production processes and procedures.
Lead all logistics, shipping and receiving activities for the company.
Produce qualitative and quantitative data and analysis for reporting to leadership and measuring against established production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Inventory Management of Raw Materials, In Process and Finished goods for all SKUs.
Lead, facilitate, attend, actively participate in, and contribute to weekly, monthly and ad-hoc meetings with management and staff. Perform regular staff meetings with production team leads.
People Leadership
Perform personnel functions such as selection, training, evaluation, goal setting, performance management, corrective action, coaching and mentoring.
Timely review and approval of all employee timesheets, time off requests, and absences.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Collaborate and coordinate all predictive and preventative maintenance needs of production with the maintenance department.
Project management activities including the scheduling and coordination of contractors for improvements and changes in Production activities.
Responsible for the coordination and management of all new equipment and machinery implementations to include as appropriate installation qualification, operational qualification, and performance qualification.
Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external clients, customers, partners, supplies, and vendors.
Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
Remains current in profession and industry trends.
Makes a positive contribution as demonstrated by:

Is available for overtime as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic leadership and management of all production staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree or High School Diploma or GED plus seven (7) years of production management experience.
Five (5) years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Three (3) years of direct people leadership experience in a manufacturing and production environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read and write routine reports and business correspondence and standard operating procedures.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as 5S (Sustain, Standardize, Shine, Set in Order, Sort) and Kaizen.
Quality Control System methodologies such as Six Sigma to improve processes and reduce defects and waste.
Demonstrated experience building and developing production teams in a manufacturing environment.
Familiar with cabinetry and woodworking equipment, machinery, and technologies.
Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
Computer skills:
Work and be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
Ability to work with others in a team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
Climb ladders, pallet bays, crawl, maneuver small spaces.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
