California Closets is looking for a dependable, hands-on Installer Helper to join our professional installation team.
Founded in 1978, California Closets is a leader in custom storage solutions. We design, manufacture, and install high-quality closets, cabinetry, garages, home offices, pantries, mudrooms, entertainment centers, and more.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in cabinetry, woodworking, finish carpentry, remodeling, construction, millwork, or furniture installation who wants to build their skills and develop a long-term career.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You'll work alongside an experienced Lead Installer and learn how to install custom cabinetry and organizational systems in residential homes.
Responsibilities include:
• Loading and unloading cabinets, shelving, hardware, tools, and materials
• Reading installation drawings and layouts
• Measuring walls and openings for accurate installation
• Assembling and installing cabinets, shelving, drawers, and accessories
• Installing custom closets, wall units, garages, pantries, mudrooms, laundry rooms, and home offices
• Installing cabinet doors, drawers, hinges, slides, trim, molding, and hardware
• Making precise cuts and field adjustments when needed
• Using hand and power tools safely, including drills, miter saws, circular saws, jigsaws, nail guns, and routers
• Using levels, laser levels, squares, and measuring tools to ensure professional results
• Assisting with LED lighting and other specialty accessories
• Protecting customers' homes and maintaining a clean work area
• Performing quality checks and ensuring installations are completed properly
• Communicating professionally and respectfully with homeowners
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Ideal candidates have:
• Cabinetry, woodworking, finish carpentry, remodeling, construction, or similar experience
• Basic carpentry and mechanical skills
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Comfort using hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Good problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow plans and instructions
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded work habits
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Professional appearance and customer-service mindset
• Valid driver's license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is an active, hands-on position. You must be able to:
• Regularly lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Stand, bend, kneel, squat, reach, climb stairs, and work overhead
• Move large cabinet and shelving components safely
• Use ladders and work in closets, pantries, and other confined spaces
• Safely operate hand and power tools throughout the workday
