HELP DECIDE WHAT AMC BUILDS NEXT
At AMC, estimating is where a successful project begins. We are looking for an experienced Estimator who can see beyond the drawings, understand the full scope, identify risk, and develop accurate, competitive estimates that help AMC win the right work at the right margin.
This is more than a takeoff position. The Estimator plays an important role in deciding which projects AMC pursues, how we price them, and how we set Project Management and Production up for success. We are looking for someone who understands architectural millwork, takes pride in accurate work, asks the right questions, and can turn complex bid documents into executable, profitable projects.

What You’ll Do
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, addenda, and bid requirements to understand scope, identify gaps and risks, and determine project fit.
• Prepare complete, competitive estimates for architectural millwork, commercial casework, solid surfaces, hardware, finishes, delivery, and installation.
• Perform detailed takeoffs and develop project costs for materials, shop labor, engineering, finishing, freight, field labor, and outsourced work.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations; confirm scope, lead times, exclusions, and commercial terms.
• Prepare RFIs, qualifications, exclusions, allowances, alternates, and value-engineering options that protect AMC and strengthen the proposal.
• Produce clear, professional proposals and submit accurate bids on time.
• Communicate with general contractors and customers during bid review and negotiations to clarify scope and help close the right work.
• Turn awarded projects over to Project Management with a clean scope, documented assumptions, budget, vendor information, commitments, and known risks.
• Use job-cost results and lessons learned to continually improve estimating accuracy and future bids.

What We’re Looking For
• Experience estimating architectural millwork, commercial casework, custom cabinetry, woodworking, or related commercial construction strongly preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, details, and finish schedules.
• Working knowledge of wood products, veneers, laminates, solid surfaces, hardware, finishing, fabrication, and installation.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to scope and detail.
• Ability to manage multiple bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and follow-through.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam Revu or a similar takeoff tool, and estimating software. Experience with Crow’s Nest is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant education or equivalent industry experience is preferred.

What Success Looks Like
You consistently produce accurate, well-scoped bids that are competitive and protect AMC’s margin. Your proposals clearly define AMC’s scope, your handoffs give Project Management what it needs to succeed, and your work helps AMC build a stronger, more profitable backlog.

Why Join AMC?
• Make a direct impact on the projects AMC pursues and the profitability of those projects.
• Work closely with experienced Project Management, Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Installation teams.

• Be part of a practical, team-oriented culture that values initiative, accountability, sound judgment, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Build your career with a company where capable people can make a visible difference.

Compensation & Benefits
• Anticipated annual earnings: $65,000–$85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
• This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. AMC’s standard work schedule averages 46.5 hours per week, with overtime compensation for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
• Three sick/personal days.
• One - week paid vacation to start.
