Nice. can i see more of your work?

telecad, what do you get for something like this in your area?
Posted By: | Tele |
David; This cabinet was part of a very large job and was designed after everything else in order to make a statement to the ownwers guests. In other words, it was "very" expensive. The custom curved raised panels are $300 a piece to start. The legs were custom turned, the concentric circles are cnc machined. This piece is easily a few thousand dollars down here in sunny SoFL.

Well I guess we are on the same playing feild then. Thats what I would have to get for an item such as this. Nice Job!

It has been said by others and I agree whole-heartedly; Don't be afraid to make money. I want to know when did we have to start making stuff cheaper and cheaper? When someone ask me how cheap I can make something I tell them that I can make it so cheap that it will not work any more. One thing that I have never been told and that is that I'm cheap. I like to over-build and for good reason. I'll go inexpensive but never cheap.

Try this response: When someone asks if your price is negotiable,
tell them "Yes, it can be much higher" !! Makes them think, and gets the point across

I always am much higher, that's why they don't let me do the estimating. I see a job for what it really is worth.

Quite a nice piece, but I hope you got a lot more than a few thousand dollars! The finish alone should probably have been $1000 to $1600. The curved work was at least three days work.. no?
How many hours were in this piece in total: design, build, sand, finish, delivery, install?
Santa Fe, NM a piece like this would easily sell for $6000 to $10,000.00
Thanks for the reply.

$4500. less the top.
The best man in the shop put it together in about 40 hrs. The finish was easy because most of the total job was the same finish.
I, think that the piece is worth much more but it was a small part of a massive job in Bay Harbor Island, FL.
I got the design work after three people gave it a try and gave up.
I, didn't have any hang-ups, thanks to the computer. I, could have still produced the design with pencil but with the computer it was actually easier than it looks.
Yes, the price of the doors was near half the total cost only because they were shopped out to a standard design by "Meridian".
