This is a set of two demilune sideboards roughly 4 feet wide. One is done in Wenge and Ash Burl with marquetry of Gardenia flowers and Blue Ulysses Butterflies while the other is in Cherry and Figured Satinwood with no marquetry. They are identical in size and shape beyond the obvious lack of drawers in the Cherry version. They are both finished with Satin Lacquer inside and out.

That is work or art. How did you do the marquetry? Are the tapered legs stain with ebony or veneered?

Emanuel, thanks for the comment. The feet are solid ebony doweled and epoxied into the cherry legs before cutting the tapers. I just finished a piece with veneered feet and solid feet are much easier to make perfect than veneered. The marquetry is done using the packet method or the Boulle method, there is lots of information on how it is done on the internet. Also, Patrick Edwards just had an article in Woodwork magazine a couple issues ago with lots of detail on how the packet method is done.

Nice work as usual. I really like the routed fillet on the legs on the lighter version. It creates a nice separation.
Just about as sweet as it gets. Its work like this that remotivates me to reach the next level.
