Those light are Hampton Bay halogens from Home Depot. I use them all the time, because they are surface or flush mountable, they just plug in to the wall with no transformer, and they are cheap!
$20 for 3 of them
Oh yeah, and I always get one of the touch pad dimmers to control them. The touch pad dimmer is $18 and you just tap it and don't have to see any ugly wires, or inline roller switches.

Magificent, I am in awe.
