Wow! What an amzing piece of craftsmanship! I like to think of myself as a "custom woodworker", and then I see something like this and wonder how in the heck do you even make something like that?! Very beautiful work. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Paul, you continue to hit it out of the park! Outstanding (as usual).
Nice work, yet again. It is nice to see how the radius crown fits in with everything else.
Are the doors on the cabinets flat or radiused in plan also? Drawer Fronts?
Thank you everyone for your kind interest. The entire project is radiused except for the Pommele Sapele door panels. They are flat. The door rails are all raduised and it give the cabinets a very fluid continuous feel. Drawer faces were made of glued up 12/4 Khaya stock and then profiled. I experimented with laminates, but the edge detail and the laminates did not look good. The floor is also sloped about 5 inches, which added a degree of difficulty. I did mill all the moldings myself except the egg and dart. One of my previous posts shows and up close look at the crown pediment in my shop. You can search for it under my name. The finishers have not done their job yet, so it has sat unfinished for almost a year. I am actually in the process of repeating this identical project for the opposite side of the residence to which it belongs. The only difference is that there will be no wine cabinets, just twelve doors.
Paul,
Excellent workmanship!! Very nice job,
Mark
