Ryan, Is tat an old cutting board I see cut into pieces? Oh I get it and those are old adjustable shelves you used too. Dude your wife is going to kill you when she gts home and sees the kitchen torn apart.
Have you seen the inside of an engineered door. By placing the wood grains in different direction the internal tension of the wood plays against on another.
Rangus: You can believe that if you want, this looks like trouble to me. Incidentally, the engineered door has a veneer skin which helps keep moisture away from the core, and locks it all in place. If the table is in a constant humidity environment it might work. Good luck!
