no,we just used a williams & hussey with an elliptical jig.
we made templates that were about a foot longer with the band saw and edgesander then attached the finished part from underneath with screws into the thickest point of the finished trim to hold securely and then carefully fit the pieces onto the header.

Kevin, Do you know where I could find plans for beds like this. A friend wants me to make one of these for his daughter. Trying to figure out how to modify other bed plans.
