My daughter wanted this chair for her first baby shower. She wanted the basic shape to be less severe as many she found on the web. She did not want the highly sculpted seat or the excessivly long rockers. The dimensions come from her measurements and the back slats are scribed from her back. It's made from figured cherry stained red mahogany. The joints for the back legs were the only chalenging part. It took two weeks to make.
