Great Work! One of the most original pieces I've seen in awhile. Where did you get the idea from?
Absolutely amazing. I was going to ask if any parts were made on a CNC, but then I saw your company name.
excellant piece. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the feedback! This was a custom design i did for the client. She wanted something that gave her a feeling of being in the forest but more modern than rustic. She gave me complete freedom with this piece just gave me a little inspriation and what purpose it needed to serve then turned me loose. i
Wow! I think you nailed the design concept. Beautiful work and craftsmanship.
421 hours! At our shop rate that is over $29,000.00 without materials.
Was it a commission?
Don't get me wrong, it's unique, different and a lovely thing, but I couldn't pay my bills making one cabinet over 10 weeks?
Well, my shop rate isnt quite what yours is but i did just fine on this piece. I am a one man operation so what I was paid to build this has kept my bills paid for a while, and yes it was a commission
It looks like you have been looking at Gaudi`s work, that is definitely where your inspiration came from
For 421 hours i would expect something a bit better. You must have spent 400 hours sanding
to reply to the last two comments: I had never heard of Gaudi untill now but i could see where you would get that. His work has a much more gothic feel than mine tho.
To Ivor: why dont you show me what 421 hours looks like, using no sheetgoods and no CNC machines
WOW!!!! I'm sure you made a proto type before the real piece, mind sending the proto to Maine?
sorry man this is the one and only no proto type had i of done that i wouldndt have made any money
Never been a fan of contrasting woods. But you framed the light with the dark perfectly! Reminds me of the post hippie back to nature stuff, but the proportions ,tones and sensibilities are well refined .Love how the ebony ties the two woods together. Not an inch of laziness in this piece .
WOW!
The design is way out there, and the craftsmanship is amazing!
great job. this is truly art. you should explore the for more. which I could afford something like that.
OK. OK. I am the client. I am a biologist who works in south Florida. I took Andy to a close-by bald-cypress strand for an afternoon just before sunset. I wanted him to see and smell and feel the quality of the tree trunks as they met the still black waters of the strand. We sat on the boardwalk going through the bald-cypress with sketch pad in hand, came up with a rough plan and then I let his incredible mind loose. The secret to an artist of Andy's quality is to not push him to a time table. And as a client you just need to be patient. He and I are now in the design stages of another project, completely different, equally wonderful.
amazing, beutifull, creative, quality. I could go on and on. look forward to seeing more of your work, surley Ivan was joking??
Yes, I am certain that Ivan was being sarcastic. This is a wonderful piece. Thanks for sharing. -D
That is some wonderful piece. You are very fortunate to have a client who is as poetic as you are artistic. thanks for posting your work
john
Truly amazing craftmanship!
Just got to see this. Fantastic, wonderful, could spout superlatives all day. But are you sure you're not a Hobbit?
